WFSK named Nashville's best college radio station

Published: Wednesday, 11/28/07 For the second consecutive year, Fisk University's 88.1 WFSK-FM has been named Best Nashville College Radio Station at the Music City division of the March of Dimes' Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) awards banquet, sponsored by Curb Records.The annual A.I.R. awards is a competition that celebrates excellence in radio, and recognizes accomplishments in categories ranging from on-air talent, station events and promotions to news, public affairs and advertising. Media delegates from Pittsburgh and Philadelphia judged WFSK and other Nashville-area stations.The local stations submitted five-minute clips of on-air work, which were judged on the basis of creativity, professionalism and clarity.

For the second consecutive year, Fisk University’s 88.1 WFSK-FM was named “Best Nashville College Radio Station” at the Music City Division of the March of Dimes’ A.I.R. (Achievement in Radio) Awards Banquet sponsored by Curb Records.

“Our Listening audience is growing, and the community recognizes WFSK as a quality broadcast facility” said WFSK General Manager Sharon Kay. When listeners support WFSK, they are supporting Fisk University and its tradition of excellence.”
